The workshop will focus on how to create and use a targeted Career Portfolio that (1) gives Internal Trainers an edge when seeking jobs, raises, and promotions, and (2) helps External Consultants close on clients. ************************************************************************ Topics will include: * What is a career portfolio? * The different uses and kinds of portfolios * Assembling & targeting a career portfolio * What our research shows is the single most important (and overlooked!) ingredient for a successful portfolio * How to use a career portfolio both in job interviews & with your present employer * How consultants and trainers can use portfolios to get clients

About the Speaker

Frank Satterthwaite, Ph.D
The presenter, Frank Satterthwaite, Ph.D., is the senior author of The Career Portfolio Workbook (McGraw-Hill, 2003), a book that has been selected as an “Editor’s Choice” by the Wall Street Journal and was designated a “must have resource” by the National Career Development Association. Dr. Satterthwaite is a professor in the Organizational Leadership concentration at the Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. A former Director of the MBA program, Satterthwaite teaches courses at Johnson & Wales in organizational behavior, leadership, and career self-management, and has been recognized as the graduate school’s “Teacher of the Year.” In his private practice, Dr. Satterthwaite is the president of Dimensional Leadership, L.L.C., an executive training and coaching firm that helps both technical specialists and managers become better leaders and manage their professional careers more effectively.
